Filofax launches their new website

Well at last it has happened... Filofax has just launched their new website. No longer will you have to go searching for compacts and other things that were mysteriously hidden on the old site!!

OK let's not complain too loudly I think it was as much a pain for Filofax as it was for us trying to use it. So let us take a look at the new site.

The main part of the screen looks like the picture above, but there are text navigation links and other information at the bottom of the screen.

At the top you will see Shop, Community, Heritage, hover over any of these and another pop up sub-screen/menu will pop up and show you other parts of the site. Clicking on Filofax takes you back to the home screen from anywhere in the site. And there is a search facility too.

In the shop section you can select by size, colour and a whole host of other parameters, so if you love pink and no other colour. just select it and a filter will be applied to the selection you see.

Community includes the Official Filofax Blog... competition for Philofaxy!! Heritage has some useful information about the history of the brand and products.

If you have problems with the site or trouble in finding anything, I can most probably help you out or send Filofax a message. I played a small part in testing the site for a week to discover the bugs that have since been sorted out. I think you will enjoy using it, I hope so.

Initially this is a UK update, other countries will get a similar upgrade in the next few months.

Thank you to the team at Filofax for their hard work all these months to bring all of this together.

  2. I like the new site - though haven't been everywhere on it. Love the heritage link to the history of Filofax. And the blog sounds interesting -- but nothing can compete with Philofaxy!

    1. In that case wait until the morning, it is the propagation of the Domain Name (DNS) that is still up dating, this can take a few hours to happen and can vary between ISP's as to how quickly they up date their own DNS.

    2. I'm sure I left a reply earlier ..perhaps not... anyway will wait ....

    3. Also, be sure that you are closing your browser before clearing cookies (cache). Then re-open the browser. Just minimizing the browser won't do the trick. If you still have problems I would suggest trying a different browser to see if that helps.

  5. OK, so now the compacts are visible, which is great, but the slimlines have disappeared (at least from the first page after clicking on Shop)!

    1. No they are there. Click on Personal Organisers. Then select size equal to Slimline and there they are.

This is a direct link to them.

    2. Yes, it's true that they are there if you make a determined effort to find them, but my point was that every other size except slimline has a direct link from the main Shop page. I can't understand why they have missed slimline - there is plenty of room to add the link. It's exactly like the situation with compact on the old website!

  9. OOPS sorry!
Love the site but no Charleston yet. I contacted Filofax UK and they are delayed. The only Filofax that I really want out of the entire range and they are delayed. Ahhhh lol

  10. The new site has a few flaws.
    - Where are the old customer reviews? They were really helpful!
    - Navigate to Shop->Personal Organisers->Pocket and then go to the details of a particular organiser. I can't find a link back to pocket organisers. You only can hit the back button of your browser but then you lose the pocket selection. All organiser sizes are shown and you have to select pocket again.
    - The site is slow.
    - And most important: the font isn't clearly readably.

    1. Regarding your comment on the navigation, you don't need to use the back button, Just hover over shop again and the menu window opens and you can navigate to an alternative selection.

The font issue might be the font settings in your particular browser, it looks nice and clear on the browsers I've tested.

Also no problems with the speed of the site here in France.

    2. Might site speed also depend on browser? My antique laptop at home is much slower than the new PC at work on the new site.

  11. How about the old customer reviews?

    1. We can ask, if Filofax are going to migrate the comments to the new system or not?

On navigation, there is also a crumb trail at the top of the page showing you where you are on the site clicking on which ever part of that also takes you back to a previous page or a different section of the site, therefore no need to use the back button on the browser.

    2. The user reviews will be ported across manually but it will take some time. So rather than delaying the launch by several weeks, it was decided to launch without them and bring them across gradually as time and resources allow.

  12. Love the new site! The Visual History is a great feature - who knew that DayRunner once owned Filofax? And their blog - of course, Philofaxy rules, but there can never be too many blogs about Filofaxes. Can't wait for the US site to be revamped.

  13. Hi Steve,
The Time Management link is no more. Is Filofax discontinuing the time management refills? Please say no.

  14. I discovered the new site all by myself today and was pleased to see the discount code! Less pleased to see the new site still does not make available the day on two pages. So, well designed bright modern site... And off I went to ebay! Someone needs to THINK at Filofax!!

  15. Filofax do not seem to be selling their personalised photo diaries any more, please tell that I am being blind and that they have not discontinued them! :S
