Free For All Friday No. 290

Well today I'm heading north to Glasgow for the meet up there tomorrow. I'm travelling by train, surprisingly there wasn't that much difference in journey time overall between going by train or flying, mainly due to all the waiting around in airports when you fly!

My Filofax will be with me all the way, I will be using it to jot down notes of my trip and to remember things to tell people.

As usual please feel free to discuss anything Filofax or ring bound planner related.

Have a great weekend.

  1. Not a question, just a boast. I've converted both my son and daughter-in-law to using a Filofax. The only down side is that my son has appropriated my A5 yellow Finsbury and I haven't been able to find a replacement. However, I have my eye on the electric blue version and I'm hoping there will be a compact version along with the A5.

    1. Good job! In the past six months I have converted my husband and two daughters. If we keep going like this it could be world domination!

    2. I've converted two friends of mine and just set up a filofax for my mother to make it a little more cheerful and easier to use. A friend of my friend saw her beautiful planner and all the fun she'd done with it and might become another filoaddict. We plan to invite her for our next filofix night and introduce her to the fun of planning/decorating. I love it when we get another one on our paper planners side.

    4. I frequently get positive comments from supermarket checkout people when I flip open my FF and produce the relevant bits of plastic....I think they see more than most of us of people going through their bags, pockets etc to find the means to pay!

  3. Well since we're boasting.... ;)
I'm excited about my A5 becoming my Teacher Reflect & Plan binder. I need a better name for it, though... And I found someone on Etsy willing to custom design what I want. It's a variation of something I saw on a Youtube video by bateachergirl. It's funny - I've only found one American using any variety of small binder for planning/notes.

    1. How about calling it your Plan and Review (or PR for short) binder. You know that its for your teaching, so why make it more than a mouthful?

  4. Well I've done it. Before I knew what I was doing I went and ordered a personal Malden in ochre. My finger just slipped onto the enter button honest 'guv (and on the other ones to allow me to enter the card details etc but we won't mention that). Anyway the current debate, it will be my main filo so work and home diary etc but what about as a wallet as well? My purse is really bulky with cards etc and general junk (not much cash unfortunately).

    Oh the decisions!!!!

    1. When I had my Malden (now gone to a better place), I used that as my wallet as well. Often-used plastic in the six card holders inside the front cover, the rest in credit card holder inserts at the back. Cash (notes and coins) in the zip-folder inside the front cover. It always worked well for me. I'd suggest it's worth a try......

  5. Does anyone have a 2014 Filofax UK standard DPP Personal diary which they are not using, and would like to sell on the second half of the year? I'm looking for one for an 'experiment'...........
